England is blessed with public footpaths all over the countryside. Look for signage or Google “ordnance survey maps” near where you’re staying.

Oxford

If you’re staying in the city, you can get to The Bodleian Library, The Ashmolean Museum, and the old colleges of Oxford University on foot. Try the Bear Inn if you want to see where Peter (the bride’s father) used to drink and eat pie.

Visit the Cotswolds

If you can extend your holiday on either end, the Cotswolds is what’s called an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Here are some towns you might try: Cheltenham, Moreton-in-the-Marsh, Tetbury, Stow-on-the-Wold, South Oxfordshire, Woodstock.
